WPA Chair’s Welcome Message

MARCUS GEDDES
CHAIR

It is a pleasure to welcome back all WPA members and guests to this year’s Annual Dinner.

2024 has already been an incredibly busy year for the Association. We have published high quality research, organised fantastic events and continue to champion our members’ interests at a critically important time for local policymaking.

Tonight we are here to sit back and celebrate some of the things that make the West End so special: its vibrant evening economy, world-class hotels, amazing food and its ability to bring people together.

I’m delighted we have the historian and broadcaster Dan Snow MBE as our keynote speaker. Dan will reflect on the role of Westminster through the ages as the beating heart of a dynamic, global and ever-changing metropolis. The City’s success relies on its ability to grow and adapt – and I’m proud that our industry is a key player in London’s ongoing evolution.

The WPA is joining forces once again with LandAid as our charity partner for this year’s dinner. For all its strengths, the capital still struggles with unacceptable levels of homelessness and rough sleeping. LandAid is leading the charge against youth homelessness, bringing together business and individuals across our industry to deliver life changing services. So please do give generously and help us improve the lives of young people across London and the UK.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening celebrating with friends and colleagues.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the WPA.
